The Maryland Corps/Service Year Option Program: Trailblazing at the intersection of service and workforce development
In 2023, Maryland made history with the SERVE Act, launching the first-in-the-nation public service year program for high school graduates that creates education and employment opportunities for Marylanders to thrive.
The Maryland Corps/Service Year Option Program empowers residents 18+ to serve their communities while building professional skills in a supportive environment. We connect program Members with Host Site Partners, including nonprofits, government agencies, and businesses, that match their interests.
Beyond the job, we invest in our Member’s future with mentorship, training, and networking, building a lifelong alumni network of leaders uplifting our state.

AmeriCorps Maryland: National Service at the state level
For more than three decades, AmeriCorps Maryland has led the way in service. We empower organizations to tackle challenges like education gaps and economic opportunity.
Uniquely flexible, AmeriCorps allows Members to choose between full- and part-time positions. In return for your service, you’ll receive a living stipend, access to education awards for tuition or loans, and valuable professional development to launch your future career.
